The city of Kalambaka
Kalambaka is a town of Trikala and capital of the municipality. Found in the center of Greece in the north-west of the Thessalian plain. Built under the geological phenomenon called the Holy Meteora. Near the city passes the river of Pineios. There existed habitation from the ancient years with the name Aiginio.
The historical city Kalambaka is situated 352 Kilometers from Athens and 237 Kilometers from Thessaloniki.
The beautiful city of Kalambaka has about 12000 inhabitants. It is considered one of the most popular touristic destinations of the country, as it is built under the holy rocks of the Meteora.
