Avra is a village in the municipality of kalambaka. It is about 12 kilometers from the city of Kalambaka and about 22 kilometers from the city of Trikala. Found on the eastern side of Kalambaka behind the meteora at an altitude of 270m. The village is in contact with the provincial road of Antihasia.

Its residents are mainly engaged in agriculture and farming (tobacco, olives, vines, cereals, legumes).

It is worth noting that near the settlement of Avra you can find the holy monastery of St. George where St. Kosmas Aitolos preached to the people.
