Footpath Adrahti
From the main square of Kastraki you pass the children play ground east of the square. Between two fountains there are steps which lead to the old city. Here you will find a sign with orange squares. These orange squares you will find along the path at certain areas to show the correct direction. The road goes through the old city until it reaches the church dedicated to St. Nicholas. The footpath from St. Nicholas to the Old ”Panagia” has a wooden staircase. The footpath ends with a dirt road as you approach the rock Adrahti, about a 30 min. walk. Here you have a beautiful view of the Monasteries as well as of Kastraki and Kalambaka.

Useful advice!
- The best season for walking at the Holy Meteora is Spring and Autumn. If you are walking in the Summer, you will need to have a lot of water with you. You should also avoid walking in the heat of the day (11.00 – 4.00 pm). In the Winter you should also avoid areas that are very wet and slippery.
- You should wear shoes that are correct for such sports.
- Please respect the holiness of the site and maintain the proper behavior.
- Please keep the area clean of all forms of rubbish.
