“Castle” Agia Paraskevi
The site of the “Castle” Agia Paraskevi is located approximately 2.5 km north of the settlement Agia Paraskevi Kalambaka, opposite it and the point where the large buttress “Sterna” Koziakas becomes steep. At an altitude of 450 m. Lies the ruins of a small ancient fortress, built of stone blocks, many of which exceed a length of 2 meters. Probably going to post that controlled the crossings Pinios river from the NNW. Perhaps he belonged to Aeginion (pt. Kalambaka), but most likely an outpost of Faloreia ancient city located a few kilometers further south, on the right bank of the Peneus. The fortification dates from the 4th century. B.C.
