Settlement of Nea Zoe in Kalambaka
The community of Nea Zoe is found at an altitude of 500m above sea level, it has around 170 inhabitants and the river Lithaios flows from it.
You can find at the settlement a church dedicated to St. Demetrios of Boursiani (Nea Zoe). It was one of the oldest monasteries in the area, of which today there exists only the main church dedicated to St. Demetrios.
The main church has been restored by the Holy Monastery of St. Stephan of Holy Meteora, as it is a dependency of this Monastery. It is a beautiful monument of Byzantine architecture.
The residents are occupied with livestock and agricultural farming.
It celebrates on 7th July, the name day of St. Kyriaki.
